Who was Ferdinand Magellan?
Ferdinand Magellan was an explorer, who was born in the year 1480.His parents were called Rui De Magalhaes and Ines Vaz Moutinho. He was a catholic. When he was 10 years old he becamed to serve in the court of the king Juan II of Portugal.He was married in the year 1517 with Beatriz Barbosa in what we know is called Sevilla and they have to sons:One was called rodrigro and he died when he was a little child and the other was called Carlos that when he was born he inmediatly died.He was supported by charles I. Magellan discovers a natural channel, that in our days is called the Strait Of Magellans been he the first european who pass from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean.He also iniciated the expedition in that he died and was continued by Juan Sebastian ElCano and finished , accomplishing the first circumnavegation of the world in the year 1522.

Who was El Cano?
Elcano was a marine , son of Catalina Del Puerto and Juan Domingo Elcano, he also was catholic as Ferdinand Magellan.He was born in Guipúzcoa (Castilla) in the year 1476, and he died the 4 of august in 1526 in the Pacific Ocean.When he was Little, he was in boats so he gain and knew a lot of technicals and methods since he was a child.He was married with Maria Hernández Diarnel and the haved a son called Domingo Elcano III.In 1509 he formed part of an military expedition against Argel.After this, in the year 1519 he joined to the proyect of the expedition of Magallanes.During the expedition Magellan died and he taked the control of the expedition and finished the route doing the first circumnavegation of the world.

Why was Magellans and Elcanos expedition so important?
Magellans and Elcanos expedition was so important because as they surrounded the world, they proved that the earth was round and not flat, and so cartographers created many new maps and new faster and safer routes were established.
